Mini Review Alert! Lots of things good things come in small packages like truffles, chocolate, vanilla slices, cookies and baklava. While you can’t eat this review, hopefully you will enjoy it.
All security consultant Vic Andrews wants to do is protect Gina Delgado, widow and mother of three. Unfortunately she is the sister of his best friend and he puts her in danger when his cover on a job is blown.
Gina is terrified of losing another man so is wary of getting in a relationship with someone whose job can be found under ‘D’ for dangerous. Gina’s personality undergoes significant changes as at one point all she wants to do is protect her kids and in another, after a terrorist has threatened them, she decides to go and sing at a club…in public…with a massive target on her head. Vic is a bit dopey and keeps breaking self-imposed ‘man rules’ as he tries to save the day and get the girl.
Read it for…
The humour and the fast pace but oddly enough not for the romance which was a bit low key. The characters knew each other so well that they skipped over the early stages of the romance and it felt like an old married couple despite Vic having all sorts of emotional breakthroughs.
