Anica Revere’s date Jasper Danes turns out to be quite obnoxious and she accidentally turns him into a cat. The ancient curse just tripped off her lips and unfortunately isn’t easy to reverse. The two learn some difficult life lessons while they attempt to turn him back into a human. Anica’s blunder is fairly humiliating as her magic is suspended and she is forced to beg her irresponsible sister for assistance. She has to learn to live like the rest of us mortals by cleaning up after herself and it was probably a good lesson to learn. The less power she has, the more she loosens up which makes her feel more human.

Jasper has a nasty habit of breaking up with girlfriends and telling his new beaus the same tear wrenching story. He really is the human equivalent of a tomcat. He spends much of his time as a cat plotting revenge on Anica but over time makes friends with her other cats and goes out of his way to help cats as he surfs the net. He is still fairly superficial though for much of the book as he thought he could fix his problem by throwing money at it.

The romance is very light and frothy as it is filled with giggle and cringe inducing scenes. Although I enjoyed it there wasn’t really enough in it for me to want to go back and read it again. The neighbour obsessed with neutering male cats was a highlight.
