Review: The Nightingale Before Christmas by Donna Andrews

Review: The Nightingale Before Christmas by Donna Andrews

Meg is supervising a group of interior designers who have been commissioned to decorate a room in a derelict house before it is auctioned off.  The winning designer gets money donated to their chosen charity. It is basically a variation of Australian reality tv show ‘The Block’ (minus the camera crew). The house is plagued with problems courtesy of one obnoxious designer who seems to go out of his way to rile up the others. When he is murdered, Meg pops on her investigating hat and gets stuck in.

Review: Unfinished Muse by R. L. Naquin

Wynter, like the heroes of old, is undertaking an epic journey. She isn’t seeking a holy grail or trying to slay the Nemean lion (which is just as well as Hercules has already finished him off) but instead is trying to reform herself. She gains a mentor, allies, enemies, possible love interests and meets all sorts of weird and wonderful people along the way to becoming a successful muse.

2016 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

2016 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

This is going to be the year that I complete this challenge with gusto. I managed 16/20 books for this challenge last year as I had a baby – Mr R. is seriously good at helping me generate excuses – and if that doesn’t convince you, then technically ‘a friendly hug’ is 11-20 books so I did sort of complete it last year. I have so many books that are crying out to be read that I am aiming for 20 books again.
