Feature & Follow #156 War Books

Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

I thought I would try joining a book hop as a way of getting to meet new people and blogs. So here goes with this week’s topic…

Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favourite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

I had a look through my Goodreads shelves and the ones that have the most war in them are funnily enough romances. I have read lots of mysteries that are set in between the wars but not many during the war. Most of my steampunk and urban fantasy books don’t have a real war component, just lots of people fighting.

I’m going to cheat and mention a whole series rather than one book. Claire Ashgrove’s The Curse of the Templars series is lots of fun. The Templars are fighting a war against evil but as these are paranormal romances, they manage to fall in love just in the nick of time. If you click on the book covers you can read my reviews.

  1. Hi Vilia! First of all, nice to meet you! 😉 Thanks for hopping by my blog and following. I’m following you via email and I liked your facebook page. Now for the books…I love historical fiction. (obviously, since that was my pick for the week) But I also love historical fiction with a dash of paranormal! 🙂 Thanks for introducing me to this series. It sounds fantastic. I’ll add it to my TBR. Have a great weekend!

  2. I haven’t read those yet! It took me a while to come up with an answer to this question. I had to go with the overthrow the government part because most of what I read is more paranormal/fantasy/dystopian. Ugh, I don’t really use FB. Bloglovin is a really easy sign up (I just started my blog a month ago, so I’m a newbie). I’ll check back each week with you and if you add it I’ll follow 🙂 Happy Friday 🙂

  3. Hi Mia. I don’t read much in the way of YA but that cover is gorgeous and the blurb looks pretty cool. I’m following you via RSS.

  4. Ooh, I’m definitely going to have to look into this series and check out your reviews!

Thanks for stopping by my FF!
