Feature & Follow: #168 Reading Nook Tour

Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! This week’s activity is…

Give us a tour of your favourite reading spots.

Funnily enough I answered this question for Booking Through Thursday on 30 May back when I was doing that meme. My answer hasn’t really changed but I’ll quote a bit and elaborate.

Favourite reading spot has to be the sofa which is actually purple although the picture makes it look brown. The picture is missing two key components though – my two cats. It is really difficult for me to read now without one or both of them draped over me as I’m used to the purring and the kneading. Note the lovely crocheted rug that my mother made. I told her that I really, really wanted to learn how to crochet and she just needed to do a few rows to start me off. Once she’d done that, I told her that she was doing so well, she might as well continue as it would be a shame for me to step in and mangle it. Oh and by the way, could she please finish in time for winter and not skimp on purple or red as they are my favourite colours? 🙂 I don’t know why that poor woman puts up with me but I’m very glad she does.

You can just see the lamp table which is where my essentials (chocolate and a glass of cold water) rest. It has to be within arm’s length as one of the cats usually tries to shove her face in my glass or run off with my packet of chocolate.

    • I was supposed to spend a huge chunk of yesterday reading for my read-a-thon challenge but when the snacks ran out, I had to toddle down to the shops. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

    • I love my two except when they are stealing my socks. I have literally gone from two dozen pairs down to one single, solitary sock.

    • It’s held up pretty well given its age. It has had a work out since I got the cats who need a lot of persuading to scratch their claws else where.
