When Calla answers her boss’s phone, she doesn’t expect to hear a dying man (Cage). Nor does she expect him to reject all sensible offers of assistance, make her recite a large sequence of numbers and swear to track down a man who ‘done her wrong’ years ago. Things go downhill rapidly from there.
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Pararescueman Liam McCabe is used to saving the world, one person at a time even though it is hell on relationships. He thought he had a connection with Rachel Flores when they met in Hot Zone but it fizzled out. Six months later, he finds her and her dog Disco hiding in the back of his Jeep. She stumbled across a conspiracy and someone is determined to silence her.
I found this book fairly difficult to read given the references to sexual abuse. I haven’t read the first two books in the series and the blurb on the back didn’t exactly prepare me for what was to come. Madeline Barker’s father disappeared twenty years ago and her step brother has long been suspected of killing him. When her father’s car is discovered in the local quarry, it sparks new questions rather than answering old ones.
Lieutenant Commander Clint Walker has a very valuable set of plans in his possession which were originally stolen from the Chinese. Desperate to evade the Chinese operatives after him, Clint sneaks on board a cargo ship where he meets Captain Samantha Richardson. The two quickly give into temptation but their snuggle time is interrupted when the ship is hijacked.
This is a fairly quick little read from Adrienne Giordano involving Janet Fink, the Private Protectors’ resident geek and a hostage negotiator Gavin Sheppard. Gavin and Janet had a ‘moment’ a few weeks ago and things get a little awkward when they are both tasked with rescuing the boss’ wife (Roxann from book #1). Gavin wants to try negotiating with the kidnapper while Vic wants to storm the place. Janet is stuck in the middle trying to keep the peace.
Olivia Carver is a tough-as-nails Coast Guard helicopter pilot who gets her kicks catching drug smugglers. Her twin brother Danny, an undercover cop, was murdered and she is determined to find out who was responsible. Olivia’s investigation catches the eye of undercover DEA agent Rico Cortez and he plans to warn her off but ends up in bed with her instead. When his cover is blown, they decide to take down the drug cartel themselves with Olivia posing as a drug buyer.
Tracey Bradshaw was almost pushed off the racing car circuit when someone poured oil on the track while she was training. Extensive physiotherapy and sheer bloody-mindedness has got her to a point where she should be able to win the competition she missed out on last time but the sudden death of her mentor (Uncle Joe) means she has a new team leader, Mac Reynolds, calling the shots.
The Way Home is actually two romances wrapped up in one book. Military widow Jess Albert had shut herself off from life and put all her energy into running her general store. Former military man Tyler Brown manages to capture her heart and their future looks bright until word trickles through that Jess’ husband Jeff is actually alive and stuck in Afghanistan. Jeff who suffers from amnesia as a result of his torture, has built a connection with his Afghani protector and nurse Rabia without knowing he has a wife half a world away.
Welcome to In Kelly’s Corner book blitz. This book is strictly 18+ given the steamy content but apparently it isn’t erotica. I have a guest post and a very generous $100 Amazon or B&N gift card giveaway from Roxie to pique your interest in case the rather dishy cover isn’t enough. Kelly sounds like an alpha male who has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I suspect there will be lots of smexy times as Kelly tries to protect Bee and win the tournament.
