Beka, Baba Yaga #2, is flying solo for the first time and unfortunately making a bit of a hash of things. She can’t afford to screw up though as something is causing the local selkies and merpeople to get dangerously ill. She enlists the help of a grumpy but hot fisherman, Marcus, and his father so she can dive for clues.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
I’d been hanging out for Cormack and Elena’s romance ever since they appeared in Celtic Moon and this book was definitely worth the wait. Elena is targeted by Pendaran who wants to control her abilities activating Cormack’s protective streak. He has to master being a human before he can defeat Pendaran though and attempt to win Elena’s heart.
Mini Review Alert! Lots of things good things come in small packages like truffles, chocolate, vanilla slices, cookies and baklava. While you can’t eat this review, hopefully you will enjoy it.
Lindsay and her BFF Gemma are small time estate dealers who hope to make a killing on an estate in Venice (Italy, not Florida). They get more than they bargain for when Lindsay discovers a staked vampire, Rand, inside a secret room. She accidentally removes his stake and he comes to life or rather death.
I was going to leave this series after the last book as I haven’t been enjoying the direction that Sands was moving in but then I saw that the hero was Bricker. Cue about face. To be honest, I wish I hadn’t indulged as the book didn’t really meet my expectations.
Becoming a vampire for Libby Stratton was surprisingly easy. She didn’t have to hang around shady bars or roam the streets at night. She didn’t even have to haunt cemeteries to catch a glimpse of one. She simply placed an ad on Craigslist asking a vampire to turn her and quickly received a response.
Meet Kera Watson. Barista. Ex-marine. Dog owner. Clipboard wielder. Her life was fairly boring until the day she intervened to protect someone and ended up dead….sorta. Her second chance at life, courtesy of Vig the Viking, saw her reincarnated as a Crow. Sure she has to follow the whims of a goddess and deal with a fairly crazy set of fellow Valkyries but she has a licence to kill, the strength to pull it off and a cute Viking crushing on her. What more could a girl want?
I tried really hard to like this one as I have been a GhostWalker fan for years but I just couldn’t get past Wyatt’s behaviour. This one ought to have been a kick-ass book as Wyatt Fortenot had proven himself a cool secondary character in Night Game. This time round he claims the seductive Pepper and the three cute but deadly infants that she cares for.
Sherry Crane gets drawn into the Immortal world when the perky Stephanie, mini-matchmaker in the making, tried to escape the big bad Leonius. When Sherry and Basil are informed they are both life partners, they don’t query it or get to spend much time together without the Argeneau bunch interfering.
Savannah Cavenaugh is a rare creature indeed. Her ability to morph into a dragon helps with her day job, a thief that specialises in moving big objects. She jumps at the opportunity to steal a priceless artefact and cement her name as one of the best in the business even though it means going up against Lord Relobu, the dragon lord of North America.
