Weekly Wrap-up #7

August 11, 2013 Blog Business 0 Comments

Backchatting Books passed its three month anniversary on the 30th which was pretty cool – especially since it coincided with Tuesday release day. I dug up some site stats and things are fairly balanced rating wise but probably a little out genre wise. Biggest news is that I have changed from wordpress.com hosted to self-hosted. I forgot to a weekly wrap-up for the week ending 04 August because of the move so I’ll combine it with the week ending 11 August. Reviews were down a bit given the change but I think I have got back into the groove.

Why make the change to self-hosted? To be honest, I wanted a bit more flexibility than I could have with wordpress.com. I had put it off for a little while simply because I was scared I was going to screw everything up. I did screw things up and it took a week to get my RSS & email followers moved over – sorry!

In the mood for some site stats? From May-July I have posted 123 reviews, 5 of which have been NetGalley ARCs. I’m averaging around 40 reviews a month. The genre breakdown is as follows:

  • 28 paranormal romance
  • 20 urban fantasy
  • 17 contemporary romances
  • 13 paranormal mysteries
  • 13 steampunk
  • 12 historical romances
  • 9 romantic suspense
  • 7 cozy mysteries
  • 2 detective mysteries
  • 2 thrillers

The rating breakdown is as follows:

  • 15 x five stars
  • 43 x four stars
  • 47 x three stars
  • 16 x two stars
  • 02 x one stars
