Sunday Post #7

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I started to catch up on my reading this week. Not so much happening in review land but I’ve happily whiled away the hours turning my Kobo pages. I read Relentless Pursuit Adrienne Giordano book a few weeks ago and was really interested in her portrayal of a hero with ADD so I bought the rest of the series. Unfortunately the covers do not do the books any favours and will probably put people off. I continued to rock that romantic suspense vibe and re-read a Maya Banks novel. Both Hidden Away and A Just Deception featured heroines that had been abused in the past. Giordano’s characterisation came across as far more realistic and oddly enough poignant than Banks.

The Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon will soon be upon us. I am a challenge host so please make your way back here between 7-11 November if you are interested in winning a $10 Amazon gift card and give it a shot. I promise the challenge isn’t too difficult and with a bit of luck, it might get you in the holiday mood. Considering only 60 peeps have signed up as of today and you have to sign up to be eligible for prizes, you have a fairly good chance at winning some swag. Btw if you have any recommendations for holiday themed novels, I’d love to hear them as I’m mostly turning up novellas.

Always on My Mind gave me a fire-fighter – the fact it was a fun read was a bonus.

  1. I’ll stop by for the Ho3 readathon- sounds like fun and I was thinking of joining that. Sometimes I read the latest Anne Perry Christmas mystery when they come out this time of year- didn’t read last years but I think I did the year before. They’re light and fairly short holiday- themed mysteries… not bad.

    • I haven’t read an Anne Perry for years. I sort of drifted away from her. Thanks for the recommendation though – I’m trying to steer away from novellas as I find it really hard to write detailed reviews.

  2. Wow, you made it through quite a few books this week! I’ll look forward to the reviews – have you reviewed Relentless Pursuit? I haven’t read that, but it sounds interesting.

And I’m doing the Ho-Ho-Ho readathon, so I’ll be by for the challenge 🙂 as for book recommendations – here’s my list. Be warned, I seem to be in a naughty mood this holiday season 🙂

    • Relentless Pursuit will be out later this week. I’m doing trying to get the whole series reviewed this week while they are still fresh in my mind.
