Sunday Post #31

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

A really quiet week on the blog with only three reviews. I got a bit reflective this week, thinking about how my reading habits have changed.

I read I’ve been publishing mysteries on Mondays for a few weeks now so I think it’s safe to say that I can handle Mystery Monday. I was addicted to the Nancy Drew mysteries when I was a kid and made the jump up to adult fiction with Agatha Christe, Ngaio Marsh and Patricia Wentworth. The biggest problem starting with classic authors such as these was finding new authors that could match them in terms of plot, characterisation and style. I needed a break eventually and moved on to historical mysteries but I still have a soft spot for a good cozy.

  1. If you want some good recommendations, you might like to check out my Goodreads Historical Mystery shelf (the icon is at the top of the page on the right). I’ve read about 185 historical mysteries over the last fifteen years and hopefully there is something in there that catches your eye. The books range from ancient Egypt to World War II.
