Sunday Post #29

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I felt like simply reviewing mysteries this week. I’ve neglected them a little bit in favour of paranormal romance novels so it took a little while to get back in the groove. They are probably the hardest genre (for me) to review as I’m afraid I’ll reveal way too much info about the plot and whodunnit. The pick of the bunch would have to be Ghost of a Gamble as it combined ghostly gangsters and Vegas. If it hadn’t been for the pesky love triangle, I would have given it 5 stars.

I met my big deadline on Friday morning so decided to kick back a little this weekend and start watching Game of Thrones. I was expecting political intrigue with dragons instead I got a cross between True Blood and The Tudors with dragon eggs. Dragons really would be the cherry on the top of the sundae so I hope those fossilised eggs hatch at some point. I’ve only watched 3 episodes so far but Ayra, Daenerys and Tyrion would have to be my favourites.  Joffrey is quite simply repellent as is Viserys. Bleh!!

  1. I haven’t watched much Game of Thrones but my husband loves it. Hopefully the dragons show up soon! Mysteries are hard to review for me too and I worry what doesn’t seem like a spoiler to me might be considered one for someone else. I really enjoyed your review on Ghost of a Gamble and hope to give the series a try soon. Have a great week!

  2. So you’re watching GoT season 1? Ah, the beginning… you are in for a treat! Arya is great, and I like Jon too (in the books, not so much on the show). Hope you enjoy the show!
