Disaster Strikes

Today has been a right royal pain. I got up at the obscene hour of 8:30 am (remember I’m on holiday time) only to discover that many of the ebooks that were due to be released today hadn’t been. No idea why. I bought, read and reviewed a couple of ebooks and then hung around until 3 pm.

I had pre-ordered lots of books from my favourite indie bookshop and was going to make the two hour round trip to collect them. I braved road works, traffic congestion and the nightmare that is inner city parking to get there just so I could spend the evening snuggled up reading but they hadn’t received their delivery. I just got home empty handed 3 1/2 hours after I set off. It could have been worse – around the road works I managed to get up to 20 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone and didn’t have to use the handbrake more than once. Yay! 

Remember the Blogathon I wanted to run? Given my inability to source the books, I have managed two books in 9 1/2 hours which is fairly pitiful. Mental note to self, actually have the books in your hand or on your eReader before you plan to spend all day reading and reviewing.

    You poor baby! I was really looking forward to your readablogathon (trademark pending). Hope they arrive soon. Roadworks are foul and it sounds like you hit the mother load.

    • Books should hopefully arrive tomorrow. I’ll try and do a proper readablogathon later in the week before I have to go back to work. Thanks for the sympathy 🙂
